Ian Watson
As a journalist, Ian's expertise as a communicator covers all aspects of editing, publishing and media production. He trained with a leading Scottish print and book publishing house and worked for the Glasgow Herald, before moving to Canada where he held several senior editorial posts with the Toronto Globe and Mail.
Returning to Scotland he worked with the Herald on its agricultural and business desks before joining a public relations company specialising in oil industry consultancy.
Ian spent a few years as deputy chief sub-editor of the Bulawayo Chronicle during which time he developed an intimate knowledge and understanding of African politics.
In 1981, Ian joined the South China Morning Post as business foreign editor and went on to head up the special reports section. Within a year or so, Ian managed to boost the newspaper's earnings in this sector from an annual $12m to $120m, handling 125 supplements and six major full-colour magazines annually with a staff of three.
Ian joined the Hongkong Standard as managing editor prior to establishing Stenhouse Portfolio Ltd.
Fiona Plani
Fiona has put to good use her extensive knowledge of people management, internationally among corporate, state, commonwealth, provincial governments and NGOs.
Fiona attended the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa where her studies included a Bachelors degree, a post graduate qualification in industrial relations and a Master of Management degree.
Her skills and experience have enabled her to design, develop and apply a range of business solutions for corporate and other organisations. Strategic planning, organisational research and change management as well as policy reviews, design and development are among major interventions Fiona has implemented with organisational leaders to achieve shifts in corporate culture, enhanced public image and significant improvements to organisational performance.
Fiona is a strategic, systems thinker, a skilled writer, editor, researcher and business consultant.
